Griselda - Stream Latest Film Review

Introduction

Netflix's Griselda revolves around the life of the notorious Griselda Blanco, with each episode showcasing the ruthlessness of this queenpin through numerous deaths. The miniseries follows Griselda's relocation from Colombia to Miami, where she emerged as a prominent figure in the drug wars spanning the 1970s and 1980s. In order to establish her dominance in a male-dominated realm, the "Godmother" had to exhibit her ferocity and mercilessness. Consequently, this led to an astonishing amount of bloodshed, resulting in the demise of Griselda's adversaries, allies, and even her own children.

Sofía Vergara's portrayal of Griselda Blanco in the show Griselda is said to accurately depict the dangerous nature of the real-life queenpin. The show's creators, Eric Newman and Andrés Baiz, strived to present Griselda's story as authentically as possible by researching her career and crimes through firsthand accounts. As a result, each episode of the show showcases the deaths of characters who symbolize the actual victims of Griselda's criminal activities, albeit with some variations. Griselda Shots and Kills Alberto Bravo

In the initial installment of Griselda, it is unveiled that the Godmother committed the act of killing her spouse prior to escaping Colombia. In the Netflix adaptation, Alberto coerced Griselda into engaging in a sexual encounter with his brother, Fernando, in order to settle his financial obligations. When he accused his wife of deriving pleasure from the encounter, a heated altercation ensued between the couple, culminating in Griselda fatally shooting Alberto. While the motive behind Griselda's actions remains undisclosed, it is undeniable that the queenpin did indeed murder her husband in Colombia.

Amilcar’s men kill Eddie "The Bird" Rancon and his crew.

In episode 1, Eddie "The Bird" Rancon's death was perhaps the most insignificant one for Griselda. He was a rival of Amilcar and one of the few individuals who still purchased Griselda's cocaine despite her being blacklisted by the drug lord. Right after Griselda received a substantial amount of money, Amilcar's henchmen stormed into the club and gunned down Eddie and his associates. Unlike other characters in Griselda's life, this drug lord appears to have no connections to any real-world figures.

Dario Shoots & Kills Fernando Bravo

Alberto's brother, Fernando, successfully tracked down Griselda at her hotel in Miami, targeting her for revenge after Alberto's demise. His sinister intentions involved both rape and murder. However, when Fernando commanded Dario Sepulveda to eliminate Griselda's son, the tables turned as the assassin aimed his weapon at his own boss instead. While rumors suggest that Dario initially crossed paths with Griselda when he was hired to assassinate her, there is no concrete information regarding the identity of the person who ordered this hit. Consequently, it remains uncertain whether any of these events ultimately led to the demise of a man named Fernando Bravo.

Dario and Chucho Kill a Murder Witness and His Wife

Despite all the misfortunes that had occurred between them, Griselda sought to form an alliance with Amilcar, which necessitated additional killings. Amilcar had been seen committing a murder by a man, so Griselda proposed taking care of the man's demise herself. However, when Dario and Chucho located the witness, he was accompanied by his wife and young child. Nevertheless, Griselda insisted on proceeding with the murders, sparing only the life of the innocent baby. These tragic fatalities serve as a representation of the heinous crimes Griselda orchestrated throughout her career, and the witness and his wife do not resemble any specific individuals.
